The investigation into the case of Agostina Vega has seen a new arrest in recent hours. It involves Osvaldo Fassetta, a 47-year-old man who was arrested by order of the Córdoba Justice under the accusation of aggravated concealment.
The measure was taken within the framework of the case that has Claudio Barrelier as the main accused, identified as the presumed author of the crime against the 14-year-old teenager. Now, investigators are trying to determine the extent of Fassetta's involvement and what he knew about the events.
Osvaldo Fassetta, a 47-year-old man identified by the Justice as a suspected accomplice in the murder of the 14-year-old girl.
Who is Osvaldo Fassetta?
According to reports, Fassetta had been working in the construction industry for over 16 years and maintained an active presence on social media, where he shared family images, gatherings with friends, and posts related to his daily life.
Another of his passions was football. According to public profiles analyzed by various media, he was a fan of Instituto and frequently attended amateur tournaments held on weekends. It was precisely through that sports environment that he would have met Claudio Barrelier.
According to the information added to the investigation, the accused established a friendship about ten months ago.
The man was extremely active on social media.
As time went by, the relationship became closer, and Fassetta even rented a room in a property linked to the main accused.
This detail became particularly relevant for investigators because the residence was analyzed during various evidentiary measures conducted after the disappearance and subsequent discovery of Agostina Vega's body.
As explained by his lawyer, it was Barrelier himself who introduced him to both Agostina and her mother, Melisa Heredia, during sporting events they frequently attended. From that moment on, Fassetta is said to have begun contacting both of them.
Investigators are now analyzing the extent of that relationship and what level of knowledge he had about the family's movements in the weeks leading up to the crime.
The interviews he gave before being arrested
One of the aspects that drew the most attention in recent days was Fassetta's public exposure following Barrelier's arrest.
The man gave various television interviews in which he spoke about the search for Agostina and described situations that, according to him, he observed in the investigated residence after the teenager's disappearance.
He also publicly stated that he was not in the house when the events occurred and claimed to have collaborated with the minor's mother during the days of the search.
However, the prosecution began to detect elements that cast doubt on that version.
