Catamarca adds new transportation units with state-of-the-art technology

Governor Raúl Jalil presented seven new units this Friday at the Bus Terminal that will strengthen transportation both in the capital and in the interior of the province. The addition includes long-distance and urban buses, all with state-of-the-art technology and improved services for users.

Of the new units, three are intended for long-distance routes. Two of them are double-decker sleeper buses, equipped with onboard satellite internet and ramps for people with reduced mobility. The other four will be added to urban transportation, featuring low floors, automatic transmission, air conditioning, and heating, ensuring a more comfortable journey for passengers.

A key investment in challenging times

"It's a very important investment that people will enjoy, because the direct beneficiaries are users of Catamarqueño transportation," Governor Jalil stated during the event, accompanied by the Minister of Regional Integration, Logistics and Transportation, Eduardo Andrada, and businessman Oscar Chanquía.

Andrada emphasized that the addition represents "a strong commitment in challenging times," highlighting that the sector has been showing signs of recovery. According to the official, transportation has seen a 7% increase in mileage and a 6% increase in new units.

Fleet renewal plan and sustained growth

The minister explained that these measures are part of a fleet renewal plan launched less than a year ago, which has already made it possible to retire 80 old buses and add 60 new buses in operation. Among them is a long-distance bus with satellite technology, a first for the province.

The goal, according to Andrada, is that by 2026 transportation will be in full recovery, with a modern and accessible fleet serving both the capital and interior communities.
