Chacarita accuses Central Córdoba of plagiarism in their new alternative jersey
The Funebrero accuses the Santiago team of copying its traditional design in one of the alternative kits
In recent hours, Central Córdoba presented its new attire for its historic participation in the Conmebol Libertadores 2025. However, this presentation has caused an unexpected conflict, as Chacarita accused the Santiago institution of plagiarism due to one of the jersey models.
The main jersey maintains the classic vertical stripes in black and white, incorporating a star above the crest in homage to the 2024 Copa Argentina title. Alongside it, two alternative jerseys were unveiled. One of them, which sparked Chacarita's anger, is burgundy with vertical black and white stripes, a design that, according to the Primera Nacional club, "has nothing to do with the history" of Central Córdoba.

The Funebrero expressed its discontent on social media with a strong statement: "With deep displeasure, we have observed that this attire is identical to the traditional jersey of our institution, as it features the colors red, white, and black, arranged in the same distribution and with identical dimensions in its stripes," denounced the San Martín club.
Consequently, they pointed out that "it constitutes a replica of our historic design, which we have used for more than 118 years. It is worth noting that our institution has registered, in the Trademark and Patent Registry, not only its crest and name but also its distinctive colors, information that is public knowledge."
Additionally, Chacarita asserted that "the Club Atlético Chacarita Juniors did not receive any official communication from the aforementioned club from the province of Santiago del Estero to express its position or, failing that, request authorization regarding the use of this attire."
The statement also highlights that "the traditional colors of Central Córdoba of Santiago del Estero bear no relation to those of our institution, as evidenced by the crest on their jersey, which has historically featured black and white stripes."

In light of this situation, Chacarita demands a response: "Our institution demands explanations from Club Central Córdoba of Santiago del Estero and urges its authorities to reflect on the damage and harm caused."
Finally, they warned that, "if there is no prompt rectification, we will be forced to take the corresponding legal measures, in accordance with the provisions of laws 24.481, 24.572, 24.603, and Regulatory Decree 260/96, as well as the applicable doctrine and case law in the matter."
