Club World Cup: who the Argentine referees will be in the tournament
FIFA appointed the referees for the Club World Cup, among whom are 7 national representatives
FIFA officially announced this Monday the list of referees who will officiate at the 2025 Club World Cup, which for the first time will bring together the 32 best teams on the planet between the months of June and July on U.S. soil.
The entity that governs global football published the complete list of the referees who will be in charge of the matches of this renewed edition of the tournament. In total, 117 referees from 41 member federations were appointed.
The Argentine representatives will be Yael Falcón Pérez and Facundo Tello as main referees, while Hernán Mastrángelo was appointed for the VAR. Meanwhile, the assistant referees will be Juan Pablo Belatti, Gabriel Chade, Facundo Rodríguez, and Maximiliano Del Yesso.

It should be noted that "all the referees were part of seminars conducted by FIFA". The most recent took place at the entity's headquarters in Zurich between March 31 and April 4, aimed at UEFA referees.
The previous meetings were held in Dubai, between February 2 and 4, for referees from the AFC, CAF, and OFC confederations; and in Buenos Aires, from February 24 to 28, for representatives of CONMEBOL and CONCACAF.
New measure with the referees
During the 2025 Club World Cup, referees will use mini-cameras for experimental purposes, an initiative designed to evaluate possible future applications and establish quality and safety parameters.
Pierluigi Collina, chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee, detailed the objective of this implementation: "We believe this is a good opportunity to provide a new experience to spectators, through images that portray a perspective that has never been offered before".

He also highlighted the educational value of this tool for the refereeing teams: "It is also interesting for training the refereeing teams, as it is very valuable to have the opportunity to see the same as they do in order to evaluate their decisions. Therefore, it is a new experience for the networks and also serves us as a training tool".
Regarding the selection of the referees who will be in the tournament, Collina noted: "As with any new competition, the selected referees will have the privilege of being part of this premiere, so I am sure that everyone will feel great excitement".
