Expectations surrounding Franco Colapinto's future are growing day by day. Everything indicates that Alpine will announce his continuity for the 2026 season during the Brazilian Grand Prix, an ideal setting to do so in front of the South American fans. However, the Argentine driver prefers to keep his focus on the sporting side and set aside the uncertainty about his contract.
"I'm very excited. Just going there and seeing all the fans and all the people who support me is going to be great, so I'm really looking forward to it," Colapinto said ahead of the race in Interlagos. The young man from Pilar confessed that he is looking to have a better performance than last year, when his time at the Brazilian circuit was marked by frustration and personal pain.
"I think it was the moment when my year started to go downhill, when I started to have more difficulties," he recalled. "I wasn't enjoying myself at that moment, there was a lot of pressure, a lot of things going on." That adverse context was compounded by a family loss that hit him hard: "My grandfather passed away during the race in Brazil. There were a lot of emotions and it wasn't a good weekend, that's why I want to go and really enjoy this one. I'm really looking forward to having a better weekend and making up for last year."
