The teams that conquered the tournament will display an exclusive emblem from the round of 16 featuring the colors of each club, the number of titles won, and the years of each victory
The CONMEBOL announced an important modification for the decisive phase of the Copa Libertadores 2026. Starting from the round of 16, clubs that have ever won the top continental tournament will use a new personalized commemorative patch, designed to reflect the history of each institution.
Until now, champions displayed a generic golden emblem that only indicated the number of titles won. With the new design, each club will have its own patch that will incorporate its traditional colors, the number of championships, and, as a main novelty, the years in which they lifted the trophy.
The South American Football Confederation explained the objective of the initiative through an official statement. "Each patch was exclusively designed to reflect the history of each institution in the tournament, incorporating the years in which they conquered La Gloria Eterna".
Additionally, the organization highlighted that "clubs will wear an emblem on their jerseys that celebrates their legacy and recognizes their status as champions of one of the most prestigious club competitions in South America". In this regard, it added that "these patches will accompany historical champions during the Final Phase of the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2026, honoring their legacy and inspiring a new path towards La Gloria Eterna".
The new insignias will debut in the week of August 11, when the first leg matches of the round of 16 are played. In this stage, there will be four Argentine representatives: Estudiantes de La Plata, Independiente Rivadavia, Rosario Central, and Platense. However, only Pincha will be able to debut the patch, as it is the only one among them that has titles in the Libertadores (4).

It should be noted that the personalization will also reach other historical champions of the tournament, regardless of their participation in the current edition.
With this initiative, CONMEBOL seeks to reinforce the identity of the Copa Libertadores and highlight the legacy of the clubs that have marked the history of the most important tournament in South American football.
