Rising consumption: sales of meat, wine, and yerba increased
Sales of meat, wine, and yerba increased in the first two months, reflecting a recovery in consumption
The three most representative products of Argentine culture showed a rebound at the beginning of the year.
In the first two months of 2025, the consumption of beef, wine, and yerba mate grew compared to the same period in 2024.

Meat consumption had the highest increase
According to Ciccra, the consumption of beef increased by 13.1% year-on-year in the first two months of the year.
This growth is explained by several factors:
- Meat production reached 499 thousand tons of beef with bone.
- The 33.7% drop in exports to China allowed more meat to remain in the domestic market.
- The apparent consumption of meat in Argentina reached 392.7 thousand tons, 13.1% more than in 2024.

Wine recovered after months of decline
The wine market also showed signs of recovery. According to the National Institute of Viticulture (INV), domestic market sales rose by 8.1% in the first two months of the year.
The numbers reveal that Argentines went from consuming 100.3 million liters in the first two months of 2024 to 108.4 million in the same period of 2025.

Which types of wines grew the most?
- Non-varietal wines: +8.59%
- Varietal wines: +6.7%
- Sparkling wines: +10.9%
Additionally, the most chosen formats were the bottle and the box, reaffirming their leadership in the market.
Yerba mate also grew
After a 2024 with ups and downs, yerba mate showed a recovery in the first two months of 2025. According to the National Institute of Yerba Mate, the movement of yerba at the mill exit reached 43.1 million kilos, 3.5% more than in 2024.

The 1/2 kilo and 1 kilo packages remain the most chosen, representing 94% of the domestic market.
