Córdoba now has its Dry Port: new center for exporting without leaving the province

It will allow exports from Córdoba without going through Buenos Aires, reduce costs, and facilitate logistics for more than 800 companies

The city of Córdoba has inaugurated a Dry Port that will facilitate exports without depending on maritime or air terminals located in other provinces. Its installation within the Integrated Services Center allows customs operations to be carried out from the interior. The project aims to position Córdoba as a strategic hub within international trade.

The project was promoted by the Córdoba Chamber of Foreign Trade and received support from sectoral chambers and operators within the export ecosystem. The opening ceremony brought together leaders from the regional productive sector and representatives of companies linked to logistics. The infrastructure will allow direct operations with international shipping companies from the provincial capital.

According to its promoters, this initiative marks a change in the way hundreds of SMEs from the interior of Córdoba export. It is estimated that it will have a direct economic impact on time, costs, and operational efficiency. A significant reduction in the carbon footprint is also expected due to fewer transfers.

Greater logistical efficiency and operational savings for exporters from the provincial interior

Thanks to agreements with international shipping companies, it will be possible to access containers from Córdoba without having to go through Buenos Aires. This will reduce transfer times and operating costs, generating greater competitiveness for the export sector. It also represents a logistical advance for the entire central region of the country.

The infrastructure features an operational yard of 10,000 m² (107,639 square feet) and another of 5,000 m² (53,820 square feet) intended for container storage. It also has bonded warehouses and a Primary Customs Zone with the capacity to handle up to 140 containers. It includes a digital platform that allows all procedures to be managed from a notebook or cell phone.

This centralization of customs services allows export and import operations to be carried out in a single location. Companies will be able to consolidate cargo, dispatch products, and coordinate logistics without leaving Córdoba. It is a system designed to facilitate foreign trade from the productive interior of the country.

A tool aimed at strengthening Córdoba's exporting SMEs

The Dry Port was designed as an operational platform for small and medium-sized companies seeking to enter foreign trade. It is estimated that more than 800 SMEs could access simplified customs services, reducing barriers and gaining competitiveness. This tool seeks to facilitate the internationalization of the local productive fabric.

The new logistics hub makes a difference for firms that until now had to outsource their operations in other parts of the country. Now they can operate from Córdoba without unnecessary transfers, with greater autonomy and less dependence on centralized infrastructure. This improves the conditions for projecting themselves into global markets.

The initiative also promotes greater logistical integration among provinces in the interior. Córdoba's experience can become a model for other territories without direct access to the sea. The objective is to promote a federal network of foreign trade from regional economies.
