Córdoba boosts its tourism offer in Madrid to attract international investment

The delegation from Córdoba is actively participating at Madrid's fairgrounds to position its attractions before the most demanding European market. This is taking place within the framework of FITUR 2026, the global event that brings together more than 160 countries at the grounds of the Madrid Trade Fair Institution (IFEMA). This international meeting has the purpose of generating business alliances and cooperation agreements.

The main objective is to transform the mountain region into a center of interest for global travelers who seek authentic experiences. One of the most innovative initiatives is the launch of a shared medal that links local trails with historical routes in Galicia. Walkers who complete at least 100 kilometers (62.1 miles) on both spiritual routes will gain access to this distinction of international prestige.

Darío Capitani, head of the provincial tourism area, explained that this event is a strategic window to attract foreign capital and new projects. “This space allows us to attract international tourism, showcase Córdoba as a tourist destination and as an investment opportunity, and strengthen an agenda linked to air connectivity, hospitality, and major events.” The focus is on consolidating projects that drive private infrastructure and improve the quality of the service offered.

The flagship product of this campaign is the Camino del Cura Brochero, a proposal that stands out for its historical depth and testimonial value. "In this context, the Camino del Cura Brochero is a product of international standing, with religious tourism as its epicenter, which combines faith, identity, and development, and allows us to project Córdoba on a global scale at a fair where more than 160 countries participate," Capitani stated. The aim is for this religious circuit to compete on equal terms with the world's major destinations in order to capture the attention of the faithful.

During the working sessions, the diversification of the offer was analyzed to ensure that the products have a real impact on the economy. The Córdoba delegation, made up of representatives from the public and private sectors, keeps a busy schedule of meetings with high-level operators. The dialogue with international banking entities aims to strengthen the financial structure needed to sustain solid tourism growth.
