Córdoba: The relocation of a tree on the road is imminent, and environmentalists are losing.
Environmentalists who want to preserve it in its current location went to court and obtained an injunction. However, it will still be relocated
Environmentalists were defeated and the tree will finally be relocated in order to widen a key route for Córdoba's development.
On Wednesday, the historic quebracho located in the middle of Padre Luchesse Avenue, a strategic road that connects Sierras Chicas with a sector of Córdoba where, among other points, the international airport and an industrial belt are located, could be transplanted.

After back and forth, a ridiculous encampment, and an even more ridiculous attempt to chain themselves to the tree, Córdoba's environmentalists will have to resign themselves to seeing the specimen moved to another area.
The absurd argument of those leading the protests is not well understood. This is a tree that, if it remains in that location, could seriously endanger motorists' safety.

Conflicting voices regarding the Villa Allende quebracho
"We are not going to move from the side of the quebracho. The removal is total improvisation. They reduced the root ball because they actually didn't have a crane, and they eliminated the root conservation work we did," said Joaquín Elgueta, member of the El Quebracho Movement.

"The backhoe reduced the root ball, the roots are preserved. All of them are above, it has more surface support. The central root reaches two meters (6 feet 7 inches) deep (the root ball). The relocation is imminent," stated, in turn, Villa Allende's Secretary of Government, Felipe Crespo.
