A gang of young people with weapons and money has been arrested in Córdoba; one of them is 13 years old.
Three of the detainees are under 18 years old. They were traveling in a Fiat Cronos with weapons and cash
Six youths were detained this Monday in Córdoba city after a police operation. Three of them are 13, 15, and 17 years old respectively. They were traveling armed in a vehicle along with a large sum of cash.
The incident occurred during the early morning in the Arturo Capdevila neighborhood. The procedure took place at the intersection of Federico Rauch and Chachapoyas. The officers stopped a Fiat Cronos occupied by the six suspects.
During the search, they found two firearms and cash. Authorities are investigating the origin of the seized money. It has not yet been confirmed whether those involved participated in any crime.

The vehicle was seized
The Fiat Cronos was not reported stolen nor was there any prior complaint. However, it was retained by order of the Justice along with the weapons and the money. The six occupants were taken to a police station in Córdoba's capital.
The operation is part of the routine checks carried out by the police. The presence of armed minors once again raises alarms regarding security. The use of unregistered weapons by adolescents is a concern for authorities.
Despite the seriousness, there is still no official information about their backgrounds. There was also no detail provided as to whether the minors had prior complaints. The Justice will analyze the evidence collected during the procedure.

Minors, weapons, and cash
The age of some of the detainees once again brings into focus the debate on criminal responsibility. The youngest is just 13 years old, an age at which he can't be prosecuted criminally. The Penal Code prevents the application of severe sanctions in these cases.
While the reduction of the age of criminal responsibility is being discussed, these incidents continue to occur. The combination of weapons and unexplained money is concerning. It is not ruled out that the adults may have induced the minors to participate.
The six youths remain detained while the investigation progresses. The Prosecutor's Office on duty will have to determine whether there was a prior crime. The weapons will be examined to verify whether they were used in other incidents.
