Córdoba: 15-year-old minor involved in a murder was detained again with a weapon
He had already been released twice. He is accused of the crime against Sebastián Villarreal in Yofre Norte
Córdoba Police have once again arrested the 15-year-old minor involved in the murder of Sebastián Villarreal. The arrest took place this Tuesday at noon, after surveillance on Sabattini Avenue at 5,250, in the eastern area. This is the third time in less than a month that the teenager has been apprehended for new criminal acts.
The young man was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle traveling against traffic when he was detected by the Police. Upon noticing the police presence, the driver tried to escape, which led to a brief chase. Both fell off the vehicle; the driver managed to flee, but the minor was detained at the scene.
During the search, officers found $46,500 in cash and a high-end cell phone among his clothes. He also was carrying a replica firearm, pistol type, black in color, in intimidating condition. There were no injuries during the procedure and the minor was placed in custody for further investigation.

An extensive criminal record at such a young age
Known as “El Orejudo,” the minor had already accumulated multiple previous arrests. On social media, he appeared armed, flaunting money, and mocking the authorities. These posts reflect a concerning normalization of violence among minors with multiple open cases.

The first arrest dates back to early May, in Colón neighborhood, when he tried to steal a motorcycle with a 16-year-old accomplice. Both were caught by the Police during the attempted robbery, which targeted a law enforcement officer. At that time, the teenager was living in Villa Carlos Paz under his family's custody, according to official reports.
The second arrest took place at the end of May in Villa Carlos Paz, during a vehicle control operation. The minor was driving a Fiat Cronos with an active arrest warrant, which prompted a detailed inspection of the vehicle. In the car, officers found four tampered license plates and tools used to break locks and windows.

Villarreal's murder and the family's reaction
Sebastián Villarreal, 46 years old, was shot to death in February 2024 during an attempted robbery in Yofre Norte neighborhood. The motorcycle thieves shot him after stealing his motorcycle, ignoring his pleas: “I have two children, don't kill me, please.” The crime was recorded by security cameras and shocked the entire northeastern sector of Córdoba's capital.
Jimena, the victim's sister, strongly criticized the system: “It can't be that no one knows where this boy is.” “We are facing the prelude to another tragedy,” she stated, demanding concrete measures and that he not be released again given his criminal record. The accused minor had already been held at Complejo Esperanza, but was released despite his record.

A gang with multiple crimes
The investigation into Villarreal's death identified five suspects in a gang dedicated to motorcycle theft. The 15-year-old teenager appears linked to several violent incidents, despite not being able to be prosecuted criminally. The family reports institutional neglect and fears for their safety in the event of another release.
