Córdoba: Radical legislator Briner is charged with involuntary manslaughter
He was involved in an accident in which a 63-year-old woman died on Provincial Route 6, near Justiniano Posse
The Prosecutor's Office of the 2nd Instruction Court of Bell Ville, headed by Isabel Reyna, charged the legislator from the Unión Cívica Radical Carlos Briner with the crime of involuntary manslaughter due to reckless, negligent, or unlawful driving.
Currently, the legislator is on leave until July 2.
The decision is related to the accident in which a 63-year-old woman died on Provincial Route 6, near Justiniano Posse.

The accident occurred after 8:00 p.m., at kilometer 178, on the section that connects with Provincial Route 3.
The prosecutor's office is investigating the circumstances in which the Ford Territory truck driven by Briner collided with a Chevrolet Onix in which the victim was traveling.
The charge against Briner and the precedent of González
Briner is charged under Article 84 bis of the Penal Code, which establishes that anyone who causes the death of another person by reckless, negligent, or unlawful driving of a motor vehicle shall be punished with imprisonment from two to five years and, if applicable, special disqualification for five to ten years.

The Córdoba Legislature has a precedent of suspending its members who are charged, as happened in the case of Oscar González, who was charged for a tragic road accident in Altas Cumbres.
At the end of November 2022, it was the Radical Party that promoted González's suspension, which was formalized the following week.
He was removed "until the Judiciary issues a final sentence."

Briner, on leave
For now, there are no such requests regarding legislator Briner, who has been on leave since May, when he was involved in the road accident, and will return on July 2.
Before becoming a legislator, the Radical was mayor of Bell Ville and accompanied Ramón Mestre as candidate for vice governor in 2019.
According to reports at the time, when the accident occurred Briner "was driving at a legal speed because he was behind another car; obviously, he hadn't had a drop of alcohol."
The legislator was coming from the town of Pascanas, where he had participated in activities with Vice Governor Myrian Prunotto.
