Córdoba welcomed over 500,000 tourists, and the winter season continues to rise.

The economic impact exceeds $117 billion and a greater flow is expected next week

During the first 15 days of the winter break, Córdoba welcomed more than 500,000 tourists in different parts of its territory. According to official data, the economic activity caused reached $117,116 million. The figure was reported by the Córdoba Tourism Agency in its preliminary season report.

The average daily expenditure per tourist was $102,109.47, including accommodation, meals, and activities. This figure shows a rebound in tourist spending compared to last year. Provincial Government officials highlight that Córdoba is consolidating itself as a national winter destination.

Although several provinces have already ended their break, others will continue until July 27. For this reason, the upcoming week will be key in terms of occupancy in Córdoba. The second half of the month is expected to surpass the records of the first half.

Occupancy increased throughout the interior

In cities such as Villa Carlos Paz, occupancy reached peaks of 87% during the last weekend. Villa General Belgrano, Capilla del Monte, and Santa Rosa also reported figures above 70%. In Córdoba Capital, there was full occupancy in higher categories, according to official sources.

The data reflect a 7% increase compared to the same period last year. Provincial authorities state that the trend is sustained in the most established tourist destinations. In emerging areas, a significant flow of visitors was also reported.

Among the most popular destinations are La Cumbrecita, Mina Clavero, Miramar, and Alta Gracia. The Córdoba Tourism Agency highlighted the role of the private sector in boosting the tourism offering. High occupancy levels are expected to be maintained throughout the week.

The economic context favors local tourism

The rebound in Córdoba's tourism is also linked to a more stable macroeconomic context.  Lower inflation and exchange rate predictability favored domestic consumption. This was made possible by policies implemented by the national government in fiscal and monetary matters.

The recovery of domestic tourism is due, in part, to the economic order promoted by President Javier Milei. Fiscal adjustment made it possible to contain variables that in previous years caused uncertainty. Today, many families choose to vacation within the country with greater planning.

The combination of economic stability and a safe environment created conditions for a positive season. Tourism sector representatives emphasize the importance of maintaining this macroeconomic direction.
