The 10th Criminal Chamber confirmed that the trial for the OneCoin case, in which alleged massive frauds against investors are being investigated, will begin on October 20. The trial will combine two cases, one for illicit association and another for repeated fraud, which will allow all accusations to be analyzed in a single process. The scheme consisted of attracting savers with the promise of extraordinary profits through a cryptocurrency that, in reality, never existed in the financial market.
Among the accused is Eduardo Alejandro Taylor, who holds a degree in hotel management and is the only one still in custody, along with Ariel Eduardo Morassut and Edgar Nicolás Moreno. Those who must also answer are Mónica Gabriela Blasco, Mariana Noel López, her brother Andrés Matías López, Venezuelan national Manuel Vicente Peralta Guevara, and Ricardo Beretta. The list is completed by Adolfo Gustavo Amuchástegui, Daniel Cornaglia, Nancy Graciela Díaz, Aldo Javier Leguizamón, and Hernán Gabriel Pizarro, who are appearing at trial.
The case file also includes Adolfo Rodrigo Domínguez and Leguizamón, who have already admitted their role in the illicit association and were convicted in summary trials. On the prosecution's bench will be prosecutor Fernando López Villagra and instructor Enrique Gavier, as well as plaintiffs representing the victims. The court will be composed of Juan José Rojas Moresi, Carlos Palacio Laje, and Alfredo Villegas, a judge from the 5th Chamber called in due to the recusal of a regular member.
