UEPC confirmed that on Tuesday, December 9, it will march in Córdoba against the possibility that the Government will once again increase pension contributions. The union keeps that the 2026 Budget includes a provision that allows personal contributions to be raised by up to 4% if the deficit of the Caja worsens. Teachers warn that this clause could reproduce the adjustment applied last year and would once again affect active salaries.
Union representatives emphasize that the previous update already created a greater burden on salaries and that they won't accept repeating that scheme. They state that the Executive should organize the pension system's operation without transferring the cost to those who support the system with each monthly contribution. They stress that fiscal measures must prioritize budget predictability and control over state spending.
The union considers that the tool incorporated into the Budget operates as an automatic mechanism that increases deductions without specific debate. It keeps that workers already face high tax pressure and that any change requires technical analysis before affecting income. In addition, they emphasize that an additional increase would deteriorate purchasing power in a fragile economic context.

Situation of the Pension Fund
The Pension Fund carries a structural deficit that the Government seeks to contain through adjustments to contributions if the accounts worsen. For UEPC, this strategy reproduces a model that places the cost of an imbalance requiring administrative review on workers. The union demands continuous auditing and financial order to avoid discretionary decisions that affect salaries.
General Secretary Roberto Cristalli recalled that teachers already faced an increase last year and that they won't allow new deductions. He indicated that they will participate in public hearings to present their position before the provincial Legislature. He also noted that state unions requested a meeting with the provisional president, Facundo Torres Lima, to review the impact of the Budget.
The union announced that it will also demand a year-end bonus for active and retired workers, arguing loss of purchasing power and increased essential costs. They consider that the supplement would help offset part of the accumulated wage deterioration. Tuesday's march will be the first joint action while legislative efforts regarding the budget bill continue.
