The Cordoban union caste will march in defense of CFK, legitimizing corruption

CGT and the provincial CTAs call for mobilization following the Court's ruling that upheld the conviction in the Vialidad case

This Wednesday at 11 a.m., an unprecedented march is scheduled to take place in downtown Córdoba in support of the convictedCristina Fernández de Kirchner. The absurd demonstration was called by CGT Córdoba and the two CTAs in front of the headquarters of the labor union.

The ludicrous mobilization is part of a nationwide day of protests promoted by Kirchnerism. This comes after the sound Supreme Court ruling that upheld the conviction of the former president in the case known as “Vialidad.” This case investigated a systematic corruption structure during her administrations to benefit businessman Lázaro Báez.

Under ridiculous slogans such as “In defense of democracy” and “In repudiation of the ban,” Kirchnerism seeks to promote the delusional argument of an alleged judicial persecution. However, this is a final sentence for proven acts of corruption, handed down in three instances of the Judiciary. Meanwhile, during last week there were already similar demonstrations with the presence of social organizations and Kirchnerist activists.

A large group of people is taking part in a demonstration with banners and flags, while at the bottom of the image slogans defending democracy and constitutional rights can be read, along with information about a rally organized by labor unions.

A protest to defend someone convicted of corruption

More than a democratic act, this protest defends a former president convicted in triple instance of corruption against the national State. The Vialidad case proved a systematic scheme of fund misappropriation that harmed the assets of all Argentinians.

Unionism tries to disguise this conviction as political proscription, when it is a ruling ratified by the Judiciary at three levels. The maneuver is clear: legitimize serious crimes using institutional discourse to maintain privileges they refuse to relinquish.

There is no proscription when someone has been found guilty of corruption after a process with all legal guarantees of defense. What is bothersome is not an alleged judicial persecution, but that for the first time, political power is held accountable before the law like any citizen. The corporate defense of Kirchnerism seeks to shield its leadership by using union mobilizations as a facade of popular resistance.

Unions in decline: a caste that only represents itself

The labor unions act as the political arm of Peronism, without real legitimacy or support in a society that is increasingly critical of unionism. They claim a representativeness that no longer exists while defending corporate interests and making deals with those in power behind workers' backs.

Far from defending rights, these organizations hinder change, paralyze the economy, and block any competition or renewal. Today, they only make up a caste that clings to its benefits, while the country demands transparency, justice, and deep reforms.

Unions no longer represent the average worker, but rather leaders who have remained in office and become wealthy after decades of privileges. They are a shock force in every conflict that bothers Peronism, but absent when inflation or insecurity affects wage earners. Society rejects their actions, sees them as part of the problem and not as genuine defenders of workers, their rights, or labor dignity.
