Dagatti was released after paying multi-million bail in judicial cases
Released after eight months in prison, he faces multiple charges and must appear before the court on Monday
The judiciary allowed the release of the businessman after eight months in prison, after he offered assets as collateral for a multimillion-dollar sum. His defense will seek the release of his son, who is still in custody. Prosecutor Gavier will summon him for a statement next Monday.
After being arrested last December, AlicioDagatti faced charges of illicit association and drug trafficking linked to a truck carrying drugs and cell phones. The investigation revealed that his meatpacking company was involved in the illegal entry of those items into Bouwer prison.
The seriousness of the events keeps judicial and public attention on the case. The investigation began in December 2023, after the discovery of a meat delivery truck entering Bouwer prison. It was transporting more than two kilograms (4.4 pounds) of drugs, psychotropic drugs, whiskey, seven cell phones, and accessories.
His release was granted after he posted a total bond of 1.4 million dollars, divided into real estate assets covering both criminal cases. The community of Río Cuarto showed great anticipation regarding the decision, due to the public profile and activities of the businessman. Despite the release, the investigations are still ongoing and vigorous.

Profile of the defendants and scope of the accusations
Nine individuals have been identified by prosecutor Gavier in the case for illicit association, including Dagatti and his son Ignacio. The manager of the Livorno company and several collaborators, including lawyers and veterinarians, are also accused and under pretrial detention. Only one of the defendants remains free after paying a lower bail, while the others await the progress of the proceedings.
The charges against those involved range from coordinating illicit activities to the alleged illegal sale of narcotics from the family meatpacking plant. In addition, the possible involvement of these individuals in other crimes related to the security and integrity of Bouwer prison is under investigation. The complexity of the network requires rigorous and thorough judicial oversight.
Pretrial detention, although questioned, remains in place for most due to the procedural risk posed by the organization's influence and power. The defense keeps that there is no basis for the detention and requests that the measure be reviewed for those involved, especially for Ignacio Dagatti. The judicial controversy is intensifying with appeals and motions that will be solved soon.

Judicial discrepancies mark the process and upcoming summons
Judge Milton Peralta considered that Dagatti's release doesn't pose a danger to the case and set a bond of 900 thousand dollars. However, the Prosecutor's Office opposed, mainly due to another drug trafficking case that keeps the arrest order. Prosecutor Gavier even ordered pretrial detention for alleged incidents of trafficking in spoiled food, complicating the situation.
Despite the differences, prosecutor Lingua granted Dagatti conditional release with a bond of half a million dollars. This decision is based on the fact that his detention is no longer necessary for the progress of the investigation. Thus, with the total bond of 1.4 million, Dagatti regained his freedom, but he must appear before the judiciary next Monday.
Gavier summoned Dagatti and his son to expand their statements and continue the proceedings, while the defense is preparing arguments to also secure Ignacio's release. Meanwhile, an appeal is being processed to revoke the release, with allegations of possible obstruction maneuvers and misuse of influence. Prosecutor Gavier warns that, if free, Dagatti could hinder the investigation and continue with illicit activities.
