Davoo Xeneize analyzed the economic difference that currently exists between River and other clubs in Argentine football and considered that the financial power of the Millonario is not explained solely by the income generated by its stadium.
In this sense, he highlighted the impact of the commercial exploitation of the Monumental, but also emphasized the money that River has earned in the transfer market over the last few years. His analysis comes in a context where the club has made a significant investment in the market and secured the arrival of Thiago Almada for a figure exceeding 20 million euros.
Where River's economic power comes from
“I think a lot of people are saying that River is gaining this economic difference from concerts, from the stadium, because every match sells 90,000 tickets,” he described.
Davoo acknowledged that stadium income represents an important factor for River, although he suggested that it is not the only explanation for the economic difference.
In this regard, he commented: “I think that what River fans mention is an important factor, clearly it is, after all they have a stadium that sells a lot of tickets every match, they have a restaurant, they have a lot of businesses, I’m not saying they don’t.”
However, the content creator focused particularly on the sales of footballers made by River and on the club's ability to generate extraordinary income from its squad: “For me, it’s also because of what River has sold recently.”
The sale of Mastantuono meant a significant income for River
In particular, he recalled one of the most important operations carried out by the Millonario and linked that income to the current capacity of the institution to afford high-cost signings. “Guys, River made 45 million from Mastantuono less than a year ago,” he emphasized.
From that point, Davoo raised a warning about the sustainability of this level of spending in the future and pointed out that River may not necessarily be able to maintain the investment pace it is currently showing for several years: “I think that also has to do with that.”
And he added: “For me, in two years River won’t be able to spend 50, 100 million like they are spending now, it’s not just because of what we are talking about with tickets and so on.”
