The resolution adds to a series of judicial pressures against the newly minted candidate and his family. Eduardo Bolsonaro, another of his sons, was recently sentenced to four years and two months in prison, in addition to receiving a fine and an eight-year political disqualification, in a case linked to his political work in the United States.

From U.S. territory, Eduardo denounced that he was never formally summoned and claimed that he learned of the sentence through the press. “Any sentence without due process is null,” he stated, while accusing Moraes of acting as “both victim and judge” within the same process.
In that scenario, Flávio Bolsonaro has established himself as the main electoral figure of the right to face Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. His candidacy will be officially announced on July 25 during the Liberal Party convention in São Paulo, where he will have the support of President Javier Milei.
