During an interview with Gonzalo Bonadeo on his Vorterix program, "Don't Ask About Russia," Mario Pergolini came across a news item on social media that left him completely shocked.

Visibly impacted by what he had just read, he abruptly interrupted his guest to tell him: "In El Canciller they reported it, and TN confirms it too. Several media outlets are confirming that Indio Solari has died. Terrible."

"I'm shocked by the news, it's unexpected. It's incredible. How crazy... I didn't think he was so...", he expressed afterward, struggling to organize his words and with watery eyes, a reflection of the emotion that overwhelmed him at that moment.

"I'm shocked by the news, it's unexpected. It's incredible. I'm really amazed because today the program started with Los Redondos and we were looking at photos", he detailed.

Beyond his admiration for Indio Solari's work and having had the opportunity to meet him personally, Pergolini shared a detail that few had noticed until then. "Today's program started with Los Redondos... I'm amazed. We were looking at photos... it almost scares me," he noted.

As he recounted, that same day, without any particular reason, he had decided to fill the program from start to finish with songs by Indio Solari. Additionally, he had posted a photo with him on his social media, a coincidence that ended up making a strong impression on him.

In light of the impact of the news, Pergolini decided to close the broadcast as a sort of tribute to the artist. "We're going to say goodbye for today, it's too important for me and for Vorterix... for everyone, really. We say goodbye, and everything that will play right now is Redondos and music from Indio. There are no words, we know there will be a lot of people very hurt."

Minutes later, the host announced that he was ending the program: "We're going to end the program for today. He is someone too important for me and for Vorterix."

What Indio Solari Died From

The death of Carlos Alberto Solari shocked the Argentine music world this Friday. The singer, songwriter, and figure of national rock passed away at the age of 77 in his home in Parque Leloir, where he had been enduring the final years of a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

The news generated an immediate reaction among artists, colleagues, and thousands of fans who had accompanied the career of the former leader of Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, one of the most influential bands in the history of Argentine rock.

Although the musician had been living with Parkinson's for more than ten years and that disease appears to be the main cause of his death, authorities ordered a routine autopsy to officially determine the cause of death.

The procedure will be carried out as part of the usual protocol and will formally establish what complications led to the artist's passing. For now, no other pathologies or additional causes that may have contributed to his death have been disclosed.

What Was Indio Solari's Last Public Appearance

The musician's last public appearance occurred in May of this year, when the University of Buenos Aires awarded him the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in recognition of his contribution to Argentine culture.

Due to his delicate health condition, the artist could not attend the ceremony in person, but he sent a recorded message that was projected during the event.

The singer hoped to say goodbye to his fans this Saturday, June 6 when he would perform with his band Los fundamentalistas del aire acondicionado in Comodoro Rivadavia.
