Diego Latorre, former forward for Boca and current commentator, surprised the public by revealing his desire to become involved in the institutional and sporting life of Ferro Carril Oeste, a historic club currently experiencing one of the worst crises in its history. The team has gone ten matches without a win, recently lost to Arsenal, and is just two points away from the relegation zone in Primera Nacional.
His connection to the Caballito institution is both familial and sentimental: his affection for Ferro comes from his father, which led him to closely follow the current situation of the Verde. "Ferro is in decline. I feel very bad. I'm about to start promoting myself to solve some issue," he confessed on ESPN F90.
Latorre clarified that he isn't seeking the position of coach and isn't sure about taking on the role of manager either, but he emphasized that his intention is to collaborate "from whatever position" to contribute to the club's recovery. "Ferro's reality hurts me deeply, and I would do whatever is within my reach to help," he stressed.
