The president of the United States, Donald Trump, once again highlighted the victory of Javier Milei's government in the legislative elections and stated that the Argentine president "not only won, but won by a lot" upon arriving in Japan during an official visit.

Earlier, after it was confirmed that La Libertad Avanza surpassed 40% of the votes nationwide, the American president had already described the result as a "landslide" victory. "The Argentine people justified our confidence," he said.

In a conversation with a journalist aboard the presidential plane, Trump recalled that Milei "received a lot of help" from the United States and achieved a "victory of an unexpected level." "That was something great, and I give a lot of credit to Scott (Bessen), Jamieson (Greer), and Marco (Rubio), because we're maintaining relations with many South American countries, and we're achieving a very strong position there," he added.

Hours earlier, through his Truth Social network, the American president had written: "Congratulations to President Javier Milei for his landslide victory in Argentina. He's doing an excellent job! The Argentine people justified our confidence in him."

Meanwhile, Milei replied: "Thank you, President Donald Trump, for trusting the Argentine people. You are a great friend of the Argentine Republic. Our nations should never have stopped being allies. Our peoples want to live in freedom. Count on me to fight the battle for Western civilization, which has managed to lift more than 90% of the world's population out of poverty."

In mid-October, the president of the United States received Javier Milei at the White House and strongly praised the management of the libertarian government. However, he warned about the risk of another far-left political force prevailing in the elections: "If a socialist or a communist wins, you feel differently about making an investment," he pointed out. He added: "If he loses, we won't be generous."

Later, Milei's government clarified that the statements were not related to this Sunday's elections. "That was a misinterpretation," explained the Argentine president, who emphasized that as long as he, or someone who defends the ideas of freedom, is at the head of the Casa Rosada, American support will be assured.

After the resounding electoral victory, Trump once again expressed his political support for the Argentine president. In Washington, Argentina is considered a strategic ally in the region, especially because of its position regarding Israel, China, and Venezuela.
