Earlier today, Presidents Donald Trump and Javier Milei met at the White House along with their respective delegations, in what constitutes a key meeting for the bilateral relationship between the United States and Argentina.
The meeting, which began after Milei's arrival shortly after 2:40 p.m., is taking place in an atmosphere of dialogue and with media access, who were able to witness the first exchanges of statements before the press.
In this context, Donald Trump highlighted the economic work of Milei's government and reaffirmed his personal support for the libertarian president. "The election is near and victory is very important. It will be better after this agreement," Trump stated, referring to Argentina's political context and the recent progress in financial agreements between both countries.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent explained the objectives of the 20 billion dollar swap between the central banks of the United States and Argentina, emphasizing the importance of strengthening economic ties with strategic allies.
"We're not going to ignore our allies and it's better to build economic bridges with our allies. It's a great opportunity for Argentinians," Bessent stated, while Trump added: "We have confidence that President Javier Milei will do well."
