The United States Department of State criticized a nefarious ruling by the International Criminal Court in favor of a UN organization supporting the Palestinians
The Trump administration harshly criticized the advisory ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Wednesday, which holds that Israel has the legal obligation to allow the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) to provide humanitarian assistance in Gaza.
In a statement, the State Department described the ICJ's decision as "another corrupt resolution" and an example of the political use of the court against the United States and its allies.
"The so-called 'court' has once again issued a clearly politicized non-binding opinion that unfairly punishes Israel and absolves UNRWA, an organization deeply involved with Hamas terrorism," the State Department stated.
The statement added that the ruling reflects "an abuse of discretion" by the ICJ and demonstrates that the court "has become a partisan tool" that can be used against Americans."

The ICJ's ruling, published on Wednesday, concluded that Israel must facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and cooperate with UN agencies, arguing that the country has obligations under international law to protect the human rights of the Palestinian population.
The court also dismissed Israeli evidence that a significant portion of UNRWA employees belong to Hamas or other armed groups, indicating that the UN's internal investigations "found no sufficient evidence."
From Washington, the Trump administration flatly rejected these conclusions. U.S. officials insisted that there is clear and credible evidence of Hamas infiltration in UNRWA, recalling that several of its members were dismissed after suspicions of involvement in the October 7 terrorist attacks.

For that reason, the U.S. government reiterated its decision to keep funding suspended for the agency and urged an international review of its structure and operations.
The statement also highlighted that President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio continue to work tirelessly to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East through direct agreements between the parties, without the interference of international organizations that promote a biased view of the conflict.
Washington accused the ICJ of ignoring Israel's security context and putting at risk its right to defend itself from terrorist attacks. "While Israel faces constant threats from Hamas, the ICJ prefers to issue moral and political judgments from The Hague, weakening the efforts of those seeking peace based on security and stability," the statement said.

The Trump administration keeps that humanitarian aid must reach Palestinian civilians without strengthening Hamas or allowing the terrorist group to use the population as a human shield. According to the State Department, the ICJ's ruling omits that responsibility and instead indirectly legitimizes structures that facilitate the manipulation of civilian suffering for political purposes.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the United States' commitment to defending Israel and fighting institutional corruption in international organizations. "The United States will continue to support its democratic allies, promote genuine peace, and reject the political essentialization of international law," the State Department stated.
