Paulo Dybala will have to undergo surgery in the coming days after suffering an injury to the left semitendinosus tendon in the match where Roma defeated Cagliari in Serie A. The club confirmed this in an official statement, where it detailed that "the player and the club mutually agreed that this was the right path for optimal recovery from the injury".
In the match of the 29th round of Calcio against the "Rossoblu," the Jewel caused concern just ten minutes after entering the field in the second half. The footballer, who emerged from Instituto de Córdoba, felt discomfort when attempting a backheel pass and, visibly affected, immediately requested a substitution. The images showed him frustrated on the bench, where he was seen with tears in his eyes.

After the statement released by Roma, journalist Fabrizio Romano indicated that, due to the severity of the injury and the need for surgery, Dybala could miss the rest of the season in European football and also the June FIFA date, in which the Argentine national team will face Chile as a visitor and host Colombia.
It is worth remembering that the former Juventus player was scheduled to travel to Argentina to join the team led by Lionel Scaloni, which this Friday will face Uruguay at the mythical Centenario and next Tuesday against Brazil in Buenos Aires, for a new double round of the South American Qualifiers. However, due to the injury, he changed his plans and underwent medical tests in Italy, which confirmed the severity of the problem and, consequently, led the AFA to officially withdraw him from the draft to play in the South American classics.
