Economic recovery: Household consumption grew by 4.2% year-on-year in March
This data represents the highest level since November 2022, according to the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC)
During the first quarter of 2025, household consumption recorded a notable 3.6% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, according to data from the Consumption Indicator prepared by the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC).
Additionally, in March 2025, the CAC's Consumption Indicator (CI) showed a year-on-year increase of 4.2%, thus consolidating a positive trend in the first months of the year. The quarterly result was also favorable, with a cumulative increase of 3.6% compared to the same period in 2024.

The year-on-year growth figure represents the highest level since November 2023, reflecting the positive impact of the strong economic recovery achieved by the Government of Javier Milei, after a sustained decline in consumption initiated during the last Kirchnerist government of Alberto Fernández.
This index, developed by the CAC, aims to reflect monthly the dynamics of household consumption in final goods and services, providing greater depth to the monitoring of commerce and general economic activity.
The year-on-year growth recorded in March reinforces the recovery of consumption, with that month being the best performance since November 2023. All months of 2025 show, so far, increases in year-on-year comparison.

When observing the behavior of certain specific sectors, a widespread year-on-year growth compared to March 2024 stands out.
The clothing and footwear segment led the increases, with a 14.4% rise compared to the same month last year. Meanwhile, the transportation and vehicles sector experienced a 5.1% year-on-year improvement, while recreation and culture advanced by 3.5%. Meanwhile, the housing, rentals, and public services sector recorded a more moderate increase of 0.6%.
