The Córdoba-based company Econovo, founded in 2003 in the city of Oncativo, has become an industrial group dedicated to the design, manufacture, and export of heavy machinery for waste treatment. The firm operates production plants in the province of Córdoba and Buenos Aires, from where it distributes its compactor trucks and street sweepers to more than 20 countries. The organization is a pioneer in Latin America in the construction of 100% electric collection units.

The leadership of the project is in the hands of Oscar Scorza, founder of the company, who continued a family tradition linked to the road machinery sector since the last century. Regarding the origins of the venture, Oscar Scorza recalled in a local media: "My dad was the first to make a garbage truck in South America in 1956 and the first to make a street sweeper in 1966." From that productive experience, the entrepreneur promoted a manufacturing platform with international projection.

To start the operational activities of the project, the entrepreneur relied on his own initial funding to move to the national capital and secure the first commercial contracts. About the beginning of the firm, Oscar Scorza stated: "I started with a company with 3,000 pesos that I borrowed and set up a company in Buenos Aires with that 3,000 pesos." The sustained growth allowed for the development of advanced prototypes for collection without emitting harmful gases.

Expansion and projection in international markets

Currently, Econovo directly employs more than 350 people spread across its operational headquarters in Oncativo and the province of Buenos Aires. The manufacturing pace at the Córdoba plant reaches an average of 3 units daily, including compactor trucks, roll-off systems, and industrial sweepers. The company is advancing in expansion plans to consolidate the sale of its units in demanding markets such as the United States and Spain.

In addition to developing equipment for urban waste management, Oscar Scorza expanded his investments into the agricultural sector and heavy industry. Among his initiatives, the development of transportation systems for mining and the manufacture of high-tech agricultural machinery stand out. The incorporation of automated laser cutting and robotic welding processes has raised the quality standards of the entire assembly line.

The commercial vision of the firm is oriented towards the continuous updating of its assembly lines to compete with the leading global manufacturers in the sector. The investment in technological research has allowed it to stay ahead of the trends in electromobility in heavy transport within the region. In this way, the company born in Oncativo consolidates its position as a benchmark for the Argentine metalworking industry abroad.
