CABA Elections: what time the election results will be available

The use of the single electronic ballot (BUE) will significantly speed up the counting process

The Autonomous City of Buenos Aires is holding the 2025 legislative elections this Sunday, May 18, according to the confirmation from the Buenos Aires electoral justice. Preliminary results will be available before 9 p.m. The use of the single electronic ballot (BUE) will significantly speed up the counting process.

This year, the resolution signed by judges Roberto Carlos Requejo, Romina Tesone, and Rodolfo Ariza Clerici allows the City Government to release the first results even from 7 p.m. This is as long as 25% of the tables are counted at the district level and 33% in each of the 15 communes.

The measure responds to the positive experience of the 2023 electoral process. Back then, the incorporation of technology demonstrated that results can be obtained reliably and in much less time. “The Electoral Management Institute will presumably have partial results before 9 p.m. that will show irreversible trends,” states the judicial resolution.

How and where to vote in CABA

To cast their vote, citizens must verify their inclusion in the final electoral roll, which is available on the National Electoral Chamber (CNE) website. There, they can check the exact voting location, the assigned table, and the order number. Verification requires entering the DNI number, gender, and a security code.

Important: those not included in the roll will not be able to vote, as it is the only enabling requirement for suffrage.

Closing of polls and electoral system

Voting tables will close at 6:00 p.m. From that moment, the counting will begin. The implementation of the electronic system allows the count to start immediately, without bureaucratic delays or logistical complications inherent in the manual counting of paper ballots.

The results will be accessible to the public quickly and transparently, marking a new stage in the modernization of the Buenos Aires electoral system.
