Which cars will be able to enter the country without paying a tariff?
The benefit covers pure electric models, hybrids, and plug-in hybrids, as long as the FOB value doesn't exceed USD 16,000. This condition excludes premium options but favors more affordable vehicles with high regional demand.
The brands most benefited in 2026
Within the initial distribution of the quota, Ford Argentina was one of the most favored manufacturers. The automaker will be able to expand its electrified line-up and add new variants within the SUV segment, one of the most sought-after in the market.
Several importers of Asian brands, mainly Chinese, also received significant quotas, as they have been gaining ground in the country with compact electric cars and hybrid SUVs.
