What did the new Optimus video show?

The video, posted on Musk's official account, has no sound. However, the robot is seen performing a fluid choreography with articulated arms and knees.

A key detail is the cord that holds it from the torso to the ceiling, probably to help it maintain balance during the sequence. This caused comparisons to a puppet or animated doll.

Musk clarified in the post that the recording is "in real time", responding to those who speculated about a digital animation caused by AI.

Optimus had already danced in front of the audience

It is not the first time Optimus dances for the audience. In October 2024, during the event "We, Robot", a group of robots performed a choreography to the rhythm of What Is Love and Robot Rock.

The presentation was led by Musk himself, who was enthusiastic about the synchronization and fluidity of the movements.

Back then, he also revealed that the estimated price of the humanoid robot will be between 20,000 and 30,000 dollars.

What is Optimus, Tesla's humanoid robot, for?

Tesla presented it as a "humanoid friend", designed to assist with household tasks and coexist with people, even with children.

In a demonstration, it was seen picking up packages, watering plants, cleaning the kitchen, serving drinks at a party, and even participating in board games.

The idea is for Optimus to automate everyday tasks and have a useful and natural interaction within the family environment.

Could it replace a nanny or a teacher?

According to Musk, in the near future the robot could also fulfill educational functions. He even imagines it as a teacher for children at home.

The long-term goal is for its cost to be lower than that of an average car, so it can be adopted by millions of people.
