President Daniel Noboa announced that Ecuador is no longer on the United States' priority deportation list, which represents a key advancement in protecting the rights of Ecuadorian migrants. The news was given during his official visit to that country, where he is scheduled to meet with former President Donald Trump.

The Presidency of the Republic reported that, although no further details were provided about the diplomatic efforts, this change is due to a coordinated strategy to improve foreign relations. The Ecuadorian Government also reiterated its commitment to returned migrants, offering social support programs that include a USD 470 bonus for three months.

During one of his first events on U.S. soil, Noboa participated in a meeting with the Ecuadorian migrant community. His presence was well received, especially by families affected by deportations that occurred during the first months of 2025, when around 1,176 Ecuadorian citizens were returned in irregular conditions.

Noboa is scheduled to meet with Donald Trump in the coming hours, in a conversation that will revolve around security and bilateral cooperation issues. The president's agenda in the United States reinforces the image of an active and diplomatically strategic Government, seeking concrete solutions to national problems from an international perspective.

The removal of Ecuador from the U.S. priority deportation list represents a diplomatic victory for Daniel Noboa's administration. This measure improves the situation of migrants and confirms the Government's ability to generate positive agreements for the benefit of its citizens.
