The Ecuadorian Army seized 530 kilograms of marijuana that were hidden in the double bottom of a truck that was driving in the province of Carchi, bordering Colombia. The driver, identified as Byron Ch., was arrested for his alleged link to cross-border drug trafficking networks
.The operation was carried out during weapons, ammunition and explosives controls in the municipality of Huaca, where the military decided to inspect a truck carrying drugs. 77 large white bags, 18 large black bags, one medium white bag, four medium black bags and 94 small black bags were found, totaling 530 kilos of marijuana.
