End of Alfajor Tatín: Arcor reported it and it had to change its nickname

The influencer from Córdoba complied with Arcor's warning and changed his alias after using the brand without permission in his political campaign

In Córdoba, a supposedly liberal candidate decided to name himself after an Arcor alfajor and ended up facing the reality of private property. Stéfano López Chiodi, who sought to stand out with the nickname "Tatín," received a formal notice that forced him to backtrack. Paradoxically, he defends liberal ideas while ignoring a basic principle of the doctrine, such as respect for the registered trademark.

The use of his insignia could mislead the electorate, making them believe there was corporate support for his candidacy. The judicial document was categorical in stating that the maneuver caused irreparable damage to the company's reputation and history. The actions of the symbolic candidate were unlawful, parasitic, and a mockery of consumers who recognize the product from Arcor.

López Chiodi's reaction was to try to appear humorous and claim that his nickname gave the company free publicity. He even joked that now Honda could question him for using the name of a motorcycle. However, beyond the unfunny jokes, the court ordered him to delete all visual references to the alfajor on social media and ballots.

A testimonial candidacy marked by contradiction

What becomes evident is the inconsistency of a candidate who claims to be liberal and disregards the central defense of private property. It was not a minor detail, since he used the brand of a popular product to put his name on the electoral agenda. The move reveals more opportunism than conviction, and exposes a "leader" incapable of upholding the values he claims to defend.

The problem was not just the nickname, but also the use of logos and graphic symbols linked to the product that appeared on posters and buses. He even took that image to La Derecha Fest where he appeared next to Milei's face, in an attempt to sneak into the space. However, he was never considered within the official lists of La Libertad Avanza in Córdoba.

Ultimately, López Chiodi is more of an electoral charlatan than a genuine representative of the ideas of liberty. His only purpose is to confuse Córdoba voters and undermine support for the liberal project led by Milei. His candidacy looks like a cheap, unprincipled marketing ploy, disguised as liberalism but empty of real content.
