End of wastefulness at INCAA: talented projects will be rewarded based on meritocracy

INCAA will be responsible for promoting true talent, no longer manipulating the organization as a propaganda tool

The era of discretionary distribution and Kirchnerist clientelism  at the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) has come to an end with the new administration.

In line with the reforms promoted by President Javier Milei, INCAA is initiating a historic transformation process, focused on transparency, efficiency, and the true promotion of talent. The old scheme of subsidies managed at convenience is replaced by a rigorous and objective selection of audiovisual projects.

In this context, the institute has opened registration for the Single Registry of Committees and Juries, an initiative that seeks to ensure that the evaluation of projects is carried out by true professionals in the sector, removed from politics and cronyism.

With this change, the privileges of a small circle that benefited from public funds without accountability come to an end, and a new system is inaugurated where only projects with true artistic and cultural value will receive state support.

The reorganization of resources now allows for larger awards for those who truly deserve it, putting an end to subsidies distributed discretionally. The decade in which INCAA's money was used to finance projects of friends in power without objective criteria is over.

The call is aimed at professionals in the audiovisual industry interested in being part of the juries and committees that will have the responsibility of selecting the best projects.

Participation in this registry is voluntary and doesn't imply economic compensation, ensuring that those who join the jury do so out of vocation and commitment to the art itself and the film industry. Additionally, jurors can continue to submit their own projects for awards, eliminating any possible conflict of interest.

"If you ever received support from INCAA, it's time to give back", reads the official statement, calling on those who were benefited in the past to contribute to the selection of new talents. Meanwhile, for those who never received support from the organization, the opportunity to be part of the jury and contribute their experience in this process of change is also open.

With this measure, INCAA leaves behind decades of favoritism and discretionary use of public funds to give way to a new era of transparency, meritocracy, and true promotion of talent. A structural change that reinforces the vision of an efficient State, which ceases to be a political box and becomes a true promoter of Argentine cultural creativity.
