The Grand Final between the Argentine National Team and the Spanish National Team entered a landscape of uncertainty. The Qatari Football Association decided to suspend all local activity, including AFC Champions League matches, from March 1 until further notice due to the emergency situation in the Middle East, and the impact has already reached the match scheduled for March 27 at the Lusail Stadium in Doha

The new scenario forced negotiations to open against the clock to define if it can be played in Qatar or if it will be necessary to move the venue. In that regard, the coach of La Roja, Luis de la Fuente, referred to the situation: "We know that the talks are under way and that negotiations are ongoing. The first and most important thing, obviously, is that as a society we want the conflict to stop.”

"We don't really know how long it will last, but once everything is up and running I understand that the solution, if the game can't be played there, would be to look for another venue, if possible,” he said

Along the same lines, he added that the intention is to respect the original date: "I understand it that way, I think that's basically the direction of all the negotiations and of all those who are working on this at all levels.”

On the other hand, the tense context also calls into question the rest of the Qatar Football Festival matches. In the case of Spain, it was scheduled to face Egypt on March 30, while Argentina would do the same against the local team on March 31. The other affected teams would be Saudi Arabia and Serbia
