The launch of the new Estudiantes de La Plata crest marks the beginning of a renewed era for the institution. The transition will be gradual: the traditional symbol will remain on the kit during the current season, and the full implementation of the redesign will arrive with the 2026 collection.
The lead-up to the match against River at the UNO stadium was accompanied by posters in various parts of La Plata featuring images of icons such as Alejandro Sabella, Carlos Bilardo, and Osvaldo Zubeldía. That gesture aimed to convey respect for history while also anticipating the visual transformation.
At the launch event, Juan Sebastián Verón emphasized the significance of this change within the framework of the club's 120th anniversary in 2025. "There is very important work; we thought about rethinking the club's management, seeing ourselves involved in that and projecting ourselves into the future: how we want to leave the club so that tomorrow's youth can continue what has been done," he stated.
The changes include a custom typeface designed letter by letter, the use of uppercase initials, and a renewed lion. The pennant was also modernized: the "E" disappeared from the far left and now adopts a triangular shape with three red and white stripes.
