In an act of institutional aid in response to the collapse of the disastrous management in Spain, the European Union, often criticized for its bureaucratic drift, has had to come to the rescue of the socialist Pedro Sánchez government.
Faced with the Moncloa's inability to guarantee the security of its own territorial borders, the European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, Magnus Brunner, has had to reaffirm Brussels' commitment to prevent Spain's weakness from sinking the rest of the continent.

"We are committed to protecting our external borders and supporting Spain. When our external borders are threatened, the European response must be decisive, swift, and united. Solidarity is essential", stated Brunner after the crisis erupted.
This support from the European Union is not a pat on the back for the socialist management, but a safety net against disaster.
In fact, the distrust towards the Moncloa palace is total: a bloc of 22 EU countries has signed a harsh letter in which they directly link the migration crisis to the policies of the Spanish Government.

These European partners have demanded an urgent videoconference of the Interior ministers for next Tuesday, with the aim of preventing the situation from repeating and overseeing the lessons from a failure that Spain has tried to downplay by labeling its critics as "unsolidary."
The context of this European intervention is that of a nation in a state of emergency due to governmental neglect. Between Thursday 30 and Friday 31 of July, the autonomous city of Ceuta suffered an invasion of between 50,000 and 60,000 people in less than 24 hours.
This nightmarish figure represents 70% of the population of the city, a human volume that, on a peninsular scale, would equate to the entry of 34 million people in a single day.

The balance of this disastrous management is a human tragedy without mitigation: 67 confirmed dead on the Spanish side, a figure that the Moroccan Association for Human Rights raises to a total of 130 deceased.
The crisis has exposed the vulnerability of a State that allows itself to be swayed by viral phenomena on TikTok and WhatsApp, where a rumor about a ruling from the Supreme Court on July 8 served to trigger a massive "pull effect".
While national sovereignty was sinking at Tarajal beach, the Sánchez Government continued to maintain a submissive financial attitude towards Rabat, allocating 340 million euros of public money to projects like the desalination plant in Casablanca, money that does not seem to translate into effective border control by Morocco. Ultimately, the intervention of the European Union is the last line of defense for a Spain that, under socialist yoke, has proven incapable of protecting itself.
