Former River and San Lorenzo goalkeeper, Augusto Batalla, suffered a serious injury and will be out of play until 2027

The start of the 2026/27 season dealt a heavy blow to Augusto Batalla, one of the standout players of Rayo Vallecano. The Madrid team drew 1-1 against Deportivo Alavés in the second round of La Liga, but the main news was the injury suffered by the Argentine goalkeeper.

The incident occurred during the first minutes of the second half. Batalla went out to intercept a through pass and ended up colliding with Toni Martínez. The impact caused him severe pain and he quickly lay on the grass.
