False drug operation: Elías Piccirillo, Jesica Cirio's ex-husband, was prosecuted
He was accused of kidnapping, cover-up, and illegal possession in a fake operation with the City Police
The ex-husband of Jésica Cirio, Elías Piccirillo, was charged with pre-trial detention in a legal case accusing him of staging a fake operation with drugs and weapons.
The ruling was issued by federal judge Sebastián Casanello, who is also investigating several City of Buenos Aires police officers involved.

What is Elías Piccirillo accused of?
The judge found him responsible for the crimes of:
- Coercive kidnapping
- Aggravated drug trafficking
- Aggravated concealment
- Illegal possession of a weapon
The accusation is based on his role as the alleged mastermind of an operation in which illegal evidence was allegedly planted against a businessman.
Who else is implicated in the case?
In addition to Piccirillo, the Justice charged eight police officers. Among them:
- A commissioner of the City Police
- A former Federal Police officer
- Six members of the CABA Robbery and Theft Division

The charges range from illegal deprivation of liberty to functional abuse and breach of duty.
Piccirillo's defense: "We will appeal"
The lawyer of Cirio's ex-husband announced that they will appeal the decision. He denounced that the charges were issued with the case under secrecy of summary.
"It never happened to me in 20 years of career," he stated. He also criticized that they were given only three days to respond, without full access to the file.

What originated the case?
It all started with a complaint from businessman Francisco Hauque, who had been arrested in January while driving through Recoleta with his wife.
After being linked to drug trafficking, Hauque claimed that Piccirillo framed him with a false case in collusion with the Buenos Aires Police over a million-dollar debt.

The judge annulled the first file
Federal judge María Eugenia Capuchetti was the one who annulled that initial case. She considered it to be "riddled with irregularities" and lacking legal validity.
Since then, the investigation was reversed, and the focus shifted to Piccirillo and the officers who participated in the operation.

A repentant changed the course of the investigation
An involved police officer took advantage of the repentant figure and regained freedom. His testimony was key to advancing the charges.
He declared that commissioner Iván Carlos Helguero organized the procedure and that the agents knew in advance they would find "drugs and a weapon" in Hauque's car.
