For the murder of Kim Gómez, 7 years old, two underage criminals were arrested, accused of having stolen the red Fiat Palio belonging to the girl's family and of running her over when she tried to escape the violent robbery.

The tragedy occurred on Tuesday afternoon in La Plata and the minor lost her life instantly due to the serious injuries suffered after being dragged for 15 blocks.

One of the detainees, identified as T.G., is 17 years old and has a recent record of a similar incident. According to available information, on February 1st, along with other accomplices aged 14, 15, and 16, he stole a white Ford Ka from a 20-year-old young man.

On that occasion, the victim reported that the armed assailants forced him to get out of the vehicle. After a quick alert to the Police, the criminals were arrested near the scene of the robbery.

T.G. was detained for a few hours at a Buenos Aires Police station, but was released by order of the prosecutor's office and handed over to his parents due to his age.

His capture after Kim's crime occurred after his 14-year-old accomplice, turned in by his own family, revealed his identity to the investigators.

Reportedly, he resides in a neighborhood called San Lorenzo, in La Plata. Meanwhile, the oldest of those involved remains detained in a closed institution by order of prosecutor Carmen Ibarra, head of the UFI No. 3 for minors in La Plata.

Death Penalty

The murder of the 7-year-old girl not only devastated her family but also had a strong impact on the aggressors' own environment. In that regard, T.G.'s brother-in-law expressed his pain and apologized to the victim's parents, stating indignantly: "They have to die in prison".

Franco Chamorro, husband of the accused's sister, assured that it was T.G.'s own father who decided to turn him in to the Police. "If they did things wrong, they will have to pay for it", he declared, and added emphatically: "We demand the death penalty for both".

Additionally, Chamorro revealed that T.G. has a 5-year-old niece and questioned, visibly shaken: "Did he think about that child with what he did? And unnecessarily, because his father gives him everything, never lacked anything, and that's how he repaid him".

Finally, he stated that those responsible must receive the sentence they deserve, as "nothing can return to that family the life that was taken from them". Moved, he reiterated his apologies to Kim's loved ones, despite having no relation to the crime.
