Faro Foundation launched an event where young people debated about freedom and economy.

The event brought together representatives from different provinces, who shared their commitment to the cultural battle

With the participation of approximately 300 people, Fundación Faro carried out the event "Building Freedom" this Tuesday, May 21, a federal meeting of young liberals whose purpose was to exchange experiences about activism in adverse cultural contexts and with still-developing militancy structures.

The event brought together young leaders from different provinces, who shared their commitment to spreading liberal ideas in diverse spaces such as universities, social networks, foundations, political parties, and territorial organizations.  The activity was driven with the goal of consolidating new technical cadres and leaderships focused on the country's economic and social development.

Militancy in difficult contexts

During the day, testimonies were heard from activists who narrated the daily challenges they face in their communities, from the lack of resources to strong cultural resistance. "Fighting this battle in some places is very difficult, but at the same time necessary," commented one of the participants.

Roberto Díaz, one of the main speakers, opened his intervention with a quote from Austrian economist Friedrich Hayek:  "The duty of our time is to defend freedom with the same passion as those who want to destroy it". His reflection pointed to the countercultural nature that the defense of the liberal ideology often acquires.

A look to the future from ideas

The space also allowed for discussion on what kind of country is desired to be built from a liberal perspective and how the cultural battle is incorporated into that project. Throughout the meeting, the importance of generating instances of training, critical thinking, and federal articulation was emphasized.

Fundación Faro, the organizer of the event, has been working for years in promoting liberalism as a driver of economic and social development, and in training young professionals and entrepreneurs so they can actively engage in public debates and policy design.

From the institution, they emphasized that this type of meeting not only strengthens the network of committed young people but also  contributes to consolidating a strategic vision for Argentina's future.
