The United States intelligence bureau announced the investigation into possible cooperation with Tyler Robinson in the case of Kirk's murder
The FBI Deputy Director, Dan Bongino, stated on Monday that he suspects Tyler Robinson, the murderer of Charlie Kirk, may have been "aided and covered up" by an extensive network. According to Bongino, the attack may have been part of a larger effort and not an isolated act, pointing to multiple warning signs prior to the murder.
Kirk, 31 years old, a conservative figure and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck and killed during an event at Utah Valley University. Robinson, arrested 33 hours later, lived with his boyfriend, a transgender person, and held strong radical political views, according to authorities.
The FBI investigation already included the possibility that pro-trans groups, sexualized "furry" communities and collectives such as "Armed Queers SLC", which deleted its Instagram page after the murder, may have had prior knowledge of the attack.
Now, investigators are broadening their focus, even considering whether someone from the audience, such as the TikToker who was questioning Kirk at the moment of the shooting, may have been involved.
Se investiga la posibilidad que Robinson haya sido encubierto por una o varias personas
Bongino stated that the FBI is assessing whether anyone in Robinson's circle provided financial or logistical support, or simply knew about the plan and did not report it. He assured that multiple subpoenas will be issued to determine whether there was a broader network behind the attack.
During the interview, Bongino was asked about a possible connection between the question Kirk was answering, regarding shootings committed by transgender individuals, and the exact moment of the shooting. Although he did not confirm the connection, he indicated that they are investigating all possibilities.
A concerning aspect highlighted by Bongino was the multiple prior warnings about Robinson's behavior, including comments from family and friends about his increasing political radicalization.
El subdirector del FBI aseguró que no se descarta la posibilidad de un ataque coordinado con motivaciones izquierdistas y transexuales
According to a relative of Robinson's roommate (who is cooperating with authorities), the suspect's romantic relationship may have influenced his radicalization process. Both shared interests in video games and were part of online communities where extremist ideologies were expressed.
Unfired shell casings found in the weapon had inscriptions reflecting affiliations with pro-trans and antifascist ideologies, which reinforces the FBI's hypothesis that it was an ideologically motivated attack. Bongino mentioned that Robinson had an "obsession" with Kirk, which was evident in his digital activity.
Additionally, FBI Director Patel revealed that Robinson had sent a text message to another person in which he expressed his intention to kill Kirk, motivated by hatred for what he represented.

A handwritten note was also found, later destroyed, in which the suspect repeated his intention to "take the opportunity to eliminate Charlie Kirk". Although the note was destroyed, the FBI claims to have evidence of its content.
Meanwhile, Utah Governor Spencer Cox stated that Robinson had been "deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology", although he was not registered with any political party. Authorities also confirmed that Robinson "did not like Kirk or his views".
