FIFA has released the first tickets for the 2026 World Cup: their prices and how to buy them

Less than a year before the start of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, FIFA has opened the first phase of ticket sales. In this stage, which will run until September 19, access is reserved exclusively for VISA cardholders who meet the requirements and have previously registered their interest in purchasing tickets.

The mechanism will be by lottery: those who have expressed their intention to purchase tickets will participate in it and, if selected, will receive a notification with a specific date and time to access the purchase starting October 1.

Fans will be able to purchase tickets for any of the 104 matches that the World Cup will have, although they still won't know which teams they will see, since the group stage draw will only take place on December 5.

There will also be venue packages available, such as Boston or Mexico City, or by team, which will allow fans to follow a team throughout the entire group stage.

After this presale, FIFA will open new purchase windows starting in October and, in 2026, more opportunities will be available closer to the start of the tournament.

How much will tickets for the 2026 World Cup cost

According to FIFA, prices will range from 60 dollars in the initial phase to 6,730 dollars for the most exclusive categories of the final.

"Prices won't be determined by algorithms, but by a supervisory team that will adjust prices in real time according to supply and demand," explained an official from the organization.

Additionally, an official resale system without a price cap will be implemented, available for most countries. In the case of Argentina, it was clarified that purchasing tickets doesn't guarantee entry to the United States or Canada without the corresponding immigration documentation.
