FIFA has opened the global volunteer application process for the 2026 World Cup.

The governing body of international soccer is seeking thousands of people to collaborate with key areas of the organization for the upcoming World Cup in Mexico, the United States, and Canada

FIFA has officially opened registration for those who wish to participate as volunteers in the 2026 World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19 in  Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The goal is to assemble a large team that will contribute to the organization and development of the most important event in international soccer.

Registration is done on the official volunteer website, where applicants must create an account, complete their personal information, and take an assessment that measures skills and availability. Later, candidates will be called for interviews (in-person or virtual) to define their profile. Those selected will receive a task assignment and will go through a training process.

Among the planned duties are access coordination, media assistance, support in fan areas, and other operational tasks. Although there is no financial compensation, FIFA offers meals and drinks during shifts, exclusive items, and an official certificate of participation.

The requirements include being over 18 years old at the time of application, complying with the immigration laws of the host country, having time for at least eight shifts, attending training sessions, being proficient in languages (English and Spanish in Mexico, and other languages depending on the venue), and passing a background check.

The role of volunteers has proven to be essential in large-scale competitions. Recent examples such as the Qatar 2022 World Cup and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games have made clear their impact on public service and logistics. With that experience as a model, FIFA aims for each venue to have a large and well-trained team to ensure that the next soccer celebration will be unforgettable.
