An error on Ubisoft 's official blog revealed a secret project: a series based on the popular Far Cry franchise. The company is working with FX to bring the saga to the small screen, with Noah Hawley (Fargo) as showrunner and Rob McElhenney (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) as co-creator and co-star.
This premiere arrives during the golden age of video game adaptations, following the success of The Last of Us and the anticipation for Fallout and Resident Evil.

Anthology format
The series will follow an anthology format. Each season will take place in a different region with a new cast, maintaining the independent essence of the video games.
This way, original storylines can be told that capture the wild and dangerous spirit of Far Cry. The appearance of iconic characters, such as Vaas Montenegro, is not ruled out, thanks to Michael Mando's recognition.
A dark and provocative perspective
Margaret Boykin, head of content at Ubisoft Film & Television, described the series as "a psychological downward spiral" that is unafraid to show the darkest and most absurd aspects of humanity. This fits perfectly with FX's bold and disruptive style.
