Details of the 2025 Club World Cup

The tournament will be held from June 14 to July 13, with the participation of 32 teams from around the world, including Boca and River as representatives of Conmebol. The tournament will begin on Saturday, June 14 in Miami, while the final will take place on Sunday, July 13 at MetLife Stadium in New York.

Recently, FIFA expelled León from Mexico from the competition for sharing an owner with Pachuca due to an international body regulation that prevents two teams with the same owner from participating in the tournament. Although the Mexican team will seek to appeal this decision before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the federation led by Gianni Infantino is considering a possible match between América, the highest-ranked Concacaf club, and Los Angeles FC, finalist of the last Concachampions, to determine a substitute.

Meanwhile, Liga Deportiva Alajuelense from Costa Rica, the team that reported León for the multi-ownership of Grupo Pachuca, could also enter the discussion for being champions of the 2023 Central American Cup and for being the highest-ranked outside of Liga MX and MLS.
