Uber reported that it had completed its registration in the municipal registry of ride-hailing applications and moved toward full operation in Córdoba Capital after weeks of administrative preparation. The submission was made through the digital system enabled for these processes and represents a decisive step within the current regulatory framework. Local authorities indicated that the technical review would begin immediately to verify that all documents match the required standards.

The Municipality confirmed that the company provided every element required by the regulations and emphasized that the administrative submission includes tax certifications and tax compliance documents. The Subsecretariat of Mobility and Transit now has a maximum period of 15 days to analyze the information and issue a report that will allow progress toward final authorization. The procedure will be carried out with uniform criteria to ensure equal treatment among all registered applications.

Local Executive officials recalled that Cabify remains the only fully authorized platform and that other companies are in preliminary evaluation stages. They also noted that Córdoba-based companies such as Transmitaxi remain under observation while they complete additional requirements. Municipal spokespersons stated that the control process aims to organize the system and provide certainty to both drivers and users.

Competition and service improvements

Uber's presence introduces an additional level of competition that many users consider key to improving the quality of urban transportation in the city. The arrival of applications expands mobility options and raises standards related to safety, competitive fares, and reduced waiting times. It is also highlighted that digital platforms facilitate the traceability of each trip and offer direct evaluation mechanisms between passengers and drivers.

The entry of these platforms comes after years of resistance from taxi and remise unions that sought to block their legalization to avoid competing with more popular services. The possibility of choosing among multiple options strengthens the system's transparency and requires each operator to maintain adequate levels of efficiency and comfort. In addition, the current regulations provide a stable framework that protects rights and sets clear rules for all stakeholders involved.

The potential authorization of Uber could become a significant step in the modernization of Córdoba's transportation and would represent a direct benefit for many citizens. The coexistence of traditional and digital modalities is possible when there is a balanced regulatory framework that prioritizes the user. The review process will continue over the coming weeks and, once completed, will define the new mobility landscape in the capital city.
