The driver market of Formula 1 continues to bring news ahead of the 2027 season. Esteban Ocon will not continue with Haas once the current campaign ends, thus closing a two-year cycle with the American team.
The French driver himself confirmed his departure through his social media. "My time with the Haas F1 team will come to an end at the conclusion of the 2026 season", wrote Ocon, who also emphasized: "I leave this project with my head held high and proud of my performances in circumstances that were not always the easiest, for various reasons and factors beyond my control".
Haas also officially announced the decision through a statement in which they noted: "TGR Haas F1 Team and Esteban Ocon will part ways at the end of the 2026 season". The team also highlighted that there are still several races ahead and assured that both parties will remain focused on making the most of the remaining opportunities.
The team principal, Ayao Komatsu, also referred to the departure and thanked the Frenchman for his contributions since joining. "I would like to thank Esteban for everything he has brought to the team since he joined us in 2025", stated the executive, who particularly valued his "professionalism and commitment".
While his next destination is still unknown, the Frenchman chose to focus on the remaining competitions on the calendar. "My immediate focus is on the upcoming race weekend. I will continue to work hard with the team, maximizing every opportunity and extracting every ounce of performance from the car", he assured. And regarding his future, Ocon was emphatic: “I remain motivated. I remain hungry. This is absolutely not the end of my career in Formula 1”.
With the departure of the Frenchman now confirmed, Haas will need to find a replacement. According to reports, among the possible names to fill his seat are the current Formula 2 champion, the Italian Leonardo Fornaroli, and the current leader of that category, the Brazilian Rafael Câmara.
