In the context of the distances separating the different venues of the 2026 World Cup, one detail caught the attention of thousands of fans: how does Gianni Infantino manage to attend several matches on the same day when the stadiums are separated by thousands of kilometers?

The answer lies in a state-of-the-art private jet that the FIFA president uses to travel between the various host cities of the tournament organized by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Estimates indicate that in 10 days he covered approximately 31,000 kilometers.

Thanks to an agreement between FIFA and Qatar Airways, one of the main sponsors of the organization, Infantino has access to an exclusive Gulfstream G650ER, an aircraft designed for long-haul flights and equipped with all the necessary comforts to make multiple transfers during the competition.

The plane has a capacity for 13 passengers, a crew made up of two pilots and a cabin attendant, and a range of approximately 7,500 nautical miles. Its maximum speed exceeds 1,100 kilometers per hour, allowing it to significantly reduce travel times between the different venues of the championship.

During the first week of the tournament, the Italian-Swiss official attended at least ten matches, according to data collected by the AFP agency. In just seven days, he visited cities such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, Seattle, Kansas City, Houston, and Dallas.

On several occasions, he even attended two matches, a logistics feat that is practically impossible for any fan due to the long distances separating the World Cup stadiums.
